18 Julie's Hibiscus

Diane Mannion, Julie's Hibiscus, 8x10" o/c
SOLD
18th of the 30/30 Challenge... hitting a wall here, but will continue on.  Why did I need to do this?  Flower theme, thirty paintings in thirty days... all 8x10" horizontals?  Phew.

Love this Diane...the light is beautiful! I have three hibiscus and I just love the flowers! Some days I wonder why I took on this challenge too!! Can be tough going!

That sounds like a lot of floral paintings, but WOW, what a stunning collection of pieces they will be hanging on the gallery wall! I can see people wanting several of them to make groupings in their own home. I personally would love to do that with your florals. Each one has such great highlights and vibrancy! This hibiscus is enchanting!

Really is tough, Karen! But it's weird how it's easier knowing other artists are going through the same thing. Husband, dog, canaries... neglected. Housework, well... it will get done eventually.

Thank you for your sweet comment, Katherine! It is kind of cool seeing these paintings lined up around the studio. And I do have my favorites which would be hard to part with.

Beautiful work, you captured the light. You are way ahead of me on your 30 in 30. Thanks for the inspiration!

I love how you capture light. The green petal on the lower left side is stunning, the way the yellow shines through those top petals above the center of the flower...wow...Diane...just wow!
