Blue and Marigold

Diane Mannion, Blue and Marigold, 3.5x2.5" oil on linen/mounted
 2014 Snippet #7, 7/30
SOLD
Blue and Marigold

Antique Vicks jar again...loved how it glowed in the sun next to the marigold.  Inspired by the play of light filtering through the cobalt blue glass vibrating with the orange flower.

Having a wonderful time painting my antique bottle collection in this small scale.  Great practice for larger works.  This is the seventh painting of Leslie Saeta's 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge.

All the paintings for this challenge will be ATC size (Artist Trading Card), 3.5x2.5" and will be auctioned on Dailypaintworks.   All 50. starting bid with free shipping.

Ooooh shiny glass! A favourite subject of mine. And how beautifully you have painted your bottles Diane!
This one is gorgeous!
I have enjoyed reading about the escapades of Mrs Butterworth. Very amusing! It seems you are a great writer as well as a great artist!
Good on you for taking on the 30/30 challenge again. It feels too soon for me - I may get on board again in September. You're off to a fabulous start. Good luck with your big paintings too!

Thank you, Wendy. Thought working in a small size would make the 30/30 easier... not. These take as long as the 8x10's. I'm glad you like my writing, too. At last a use for my English degree!

Very nice! Love the Vicks jar (I remember the blue jar, but it's a secret. My age will show!). It would be a nice larger painting.

Must know - how did Mrs. Butterworth make out with her date? :)
