RIP TIDE

RIP TIDE, 6x6" oil on panel, ©Diane Mannion

No Swimming

Little girl from up north disappointed she couldn't swim on her Florida vacation because of rough water.  She did find lots of sea shells and shark's teeth to decorate her sand castle... and also dug a hole almost to China.

Third painting for Leslie Saeta's 30 Paintings in 30 Days.  Experimented with a palette knife!  Used here and there to blend and blur, then work in with brush.  Fun!
Underpainting on gray mid-tone gesso board scratched on in ultramarine blue.

Thanks, 30days... Karin! I like your idea of painting a part of a painting a day!
