HOT DOG COMPANY
oil on canvas panel
6" x 8"
oil on canvas panel
6" x 8"
Another scene from Matlacha, Florida. Open early in season, waiting for snowbirds and tourists. This painting had lots of detail and I even cut the building size and some clutter. It's a cross between illustration and painting but I like it. Really want to loosen up my style, but couldn't with this one. It was lots of fun to do and works well.

NOKOMIS BRIDGE
oil on canvas
8" x 10"
Painted this with PAF group, Plein Air Painters of Florida. Loved the blue color of the bridge! Subject too complicated for one session, had to return to location the following morning. Same white heron was there. The cobalt blue bridge was almost the same color as the sky. Early morning light tinted it lemon yellow in the east. Great spot to paint. Will do many more from this location.

PLACIDA BOAT
oil on canvas
10" x 8"
Long, hot day at the St Armand's festival. Met many wonderful people and artists. Will be glad to get back to painting this week.
This painting was done half on site and half at home with some things left out or changed. I darkened the sky more than it was to add stronger llight contrasts. I'm happy with the mile marker sign, just the right touch of red. Pleased with the dark against light value changes in the forward line. Not a bad little painting at all!

DMANNION PAINTINGS
acrylic on canvas
7 1/2" x 25 1/2"
Counting this as a painting! My art festival sign. Acrylic can be fun sometimes, although I love oil much more. But when you need something right away and can't wait for the paint to dry, acrylic is the winner. The fancy-dancy gold gild lettering is not acrylic, it's real gild paint. Visit my booth in Sarasota, Florida for the 20th Anniversary St Armands Art Festival... Oct 11-12.
