Morning Routine

Diane Mannion, 100 Morning Routine, 8x10" oil on canvas

100th Painting for the Year
and
Day One of the 30/30 Challenge

Happy coincidence that Morning Routine is the 100th painting I've done for 2013 and also the first for Leslie Saeta's 30 Paintings in 30 Days Challenge!

I did the 30/30 Challenge in January (image below this post) and chose Flowers as the theme.  This time, my theme will be Close to Home.

Morning Routine after one hour field study in Boca Grande.  Back in studio, almost wiped it out!
After fiddling with it again... felt some passages were too dark.
Final again:  Added the dog walker from imagination and the whole scene came alive!

Turned out beautiful! Love the reflected light.
See you around Leslie's blog!

Thanks, Pati! Maybe, it's when I decide to wipe it off... but then give it another chance that I loose the "fear" and just let it happen. Doesn't always work out but that's what makes this business so exciting.
